Alex entered the Ravenclaw common room. "Wow", she thought to herself. The room was very impressive. She was going to enjoy spending time here. There were a few other students in the room, but the were clearly not first years. They appeared to be in deep conversation and she was reluctant to interrupt.

Alex gave a very shy "hi" to all and sat down at one of the tables. She was feeling rather awkward so she decided to do what made her most comfortable, read. She took out one of her school books and got started. Hopefully, Melanie and Silvia would come soon.

“Wow,” said Silvia when she stepped into the Common Room. She was a little out of breath from the trek up so many stairs, but it was definitely worth the energy. She glanced around the room for her friends. The large crowd of students leaving the Great Hall at the same time caused them to get separated a little, but Silvia made sure to keep an eye on a few older Ravenclaw students as they made their way to the dormitory. She hoped she could remember how to find her way here later; she wasn’t always good with remembering directions. Alex was already there, sitting at a nearby table, already with a book in hand.

“I think Melanie should not be far behind me,” she said as she took a seat next to her friend and looked towards the door. “I can’t believe this is where we get to live for most of the next seven years!”
