It seemed that his brain wanted to continue the random tangent while the kid was talking to him, but Matt wasn't going to let that happen since he wasn't rude; nah.. that was his cousin's category at times but she didn't even need to be brought up either. "Ah not much, just soaking what I can of Hogwarts since I don't have much time left. Have to graduate at the end of the term which totally isn't cool but it has to happen." He basically just gave away the fact that he was a seventh year however one way or another, it would end up said. "I'm Matthew Stevenson but my friends just call me Matt and obviously I'm a 7th year." Extending his hand out to the boy, he was looking to make friends and even if they were first years; that didn't matter at all.. all in all he just wanted to get to know other Slytherins since he had spent the past couple terms hanging out with the other houses.
