"Heh. They aren't," he confessed truthfully, crossing a leg so that his ankle rested lightly atop the opposite knee. "I had to send a letter to the school for permission, but since they're kind of similar to rats and all, they said it was fine."

His eyes lit up when she mentioned wanting a bat. Wicked. "That would've been something. The owls are nocturnal and all, but maybe they'd have disliked one crashing their owlery," he chuckled. "Too bad though, it would've made a brilliant familiar."
