Upon seeing the pond, she just had to go to it. It reminded her so much of the pond from when her family had lived in Luton. This was so going to be the place where Laura and herself could meet up. It would remind them of house and it could be their spot.
Glancing around for a nice spot as she checked her pockets, she smiled once she found a nice spot on the rocky ledge. It was away from everyone already at the pond and if Laura did come out there, it would be easy for her to see.
Ridding herself of one of her shoes, she carefully dipped her toe into the water. It wasn't all that cold, but she wasn't about to dip both her feet in. Sitting atop her other leg, she tracked shapes in the water as she lost herself in thought.
Hogwarts is different. The duck pond, the vegetable patch, the tapestry, all brand new. Janice decided that she should first go to the duck pond, as she had enough of plants back at home and she is definitely
not interested in gigantic stuffed animals. They just scare her for no reason.
And there was another girl there. A firstie, by the looks of it. Janice needs to keep reminding herself that she is a third year now, not a second anymore, which is one of the reasons why she should not be afraid to bid another human being hello.
