Lana took a seat and settled in. She felt a little more at ease now that she wasn't alone at the table. Lily had been nice enough to include her and that did ease her nerves a lot. "Yes, it's so much more than I imagined," she replied with a smile. "I'm a first year too, but both my parents are magical. They just never told us." She figured it was probably because of how her grams on her mother's side felt about magic. She knew something was no right when she was younger and how their parents seemed so tense around her grams and all. "My father used to tell me stories about magic all the time, but I thought they were just stories until I got my letter." It was a bit surreal when she finally got her letter and she was told the truth, but she thought she handled it well.
"That's really neat that you and your parents can now share something so amazing like magic." Lily said smiling back at Lana. Lily was glad that she was able to meet someone in the same year as her since this meant that they would share the same classes, maybe even the same dorm. It was always nice to have at least one friend of the same age as yourself. "Do you have any siblings?" asked Lily thinking about her family back home.
Lily was now feeling even more comfortable at the school now that she had started to make friends. She had an older student to be like a big sister, or a guide to help make the first year a little easier and she had another student in the same year so that she would know someone in her classes.
At least it's a start to something. Hopefully this will progress into a friendship. thought Lily.
I just don't want to be alone for those times you need a friend for. Lily turned back to Lana and smiled. "What are you looking forward to the most?" she asked.
