This was meant for the night before the End of Term feast, THEIR anniversary. "It's too early. Just focus on something happy." She took her hand away and glanced frantically around. Where was this girlfriend of his when Louisa needed her?
But the boy was not planning on remaining silent, clearly. Louisa's eyes widened in surprise as he talked of Ravenclaw to Autumn. Smart, awesome common room, great Quidditch, and... attractive. He seemed quite serious about this too.
A moment of awkward silence followed before Louisa forced a chuckle out, wrapped one arm around one of his and gave him a meaningful look, "As well as all the houses, of course." What the heck was he trying to do? The firsties, particularly in their first day, should think this was a happy place with four equal houses. Which it was.. except for a few bad spirited students, but those weren't a problem. "He's our house campaigner." She added, smiling at Lily and Autumn.
Slightly squeezing his arm as a warning, she continued, her eyes not leaving the boy's face, "And that didn't affect you at all! You were a happy muggleborn student just like any pureblood or halfblood ones. Right Dallin?" Firstie's confidence is at risk here, work with me, that was what the girl meant to transfer to her friend through... staring.
Feeling Louisa's hand on his arm, Dallin blinked in surprise. Do what now? Dallin frowned, trying to figure out what she meant. Then he got it. It's too early. She didn't want him talking about this being his last year of school? Well. It was true. But if she didn't want to talk about it... then he wouldn't. "Sorry," he mumbled.
Then her arm was around his and she was looking at him. Dallin looked down at the fifth year, raising his eyebrows. As well as the other houses. If he wanted to say that, he would have said it first. He eyed Louisa for a second before understanding what she was doing. Teaching first years that every house was good and that they should love them all. Well. "Yeah, the other ones are good too." That was all she was getting out of him, though, at the moment. And he would ignore the house campaigner bit.
He frowned a little when she squeezed his arm. And then almost laughed. Because she was reminding him of back when she liked him and he didn't know she did. He didn't laugh though. It wasn't exactly the appropriate time to bring something like that into the conversation. "Oh yeah," he answered, pulling his eyes away from Louisa's stare. "I wasn't affected at all. I even passed all my classes and got good grades on my OWLs." And he was going to pass his NEWTs and everything. He was quite confident. "Blood status doesn't matter." There, some actual constructive advice for the youngins. "It just matters how seriously you take school and classes and grades. You'll be fine." He ended this with a smile. His first smile of the night.
