Oh? He was gesturing to the seats near Alec. He actually wanted to sit near him? Alec smiled. The boy was nice. One thing he didn't understand was how he knew his name. But it made him feel slightly special so he wasn't going to say anything against him. "Thank you Keefer!" he said, "Sure, no one's sitting here..." He budged up slightly and smiled again at the older boy.
And then his eyes fell on the boy's shiny badge. He had a badge! And it was all yellow! Alec squinted at the badge. Qui.... Qui... QUIDDITCH CAPTAIN?! Hogwarts had Captains for that sport? "You're Quidditch Captain!" Keefer was the badge-owner. He knew that. "Congratulations!" He could ask this boy about Quidditch now.
The poor boy looked nervous. But Keefer isn't the type to bite, so there's nothing to worry about. Upon Alec's invitation, Keefer took a seat. Almost immediately, his shiny badge must've caught Alec's attention.

Haha, yeah I am. And thank you! Do you know anything about Quidditch?" Maybe he was a Muggleborn and had no clue. Or maybe he just didn't know much about sport.
