This. Hall. Was. HUGE!

Lewis couldn't help but stop and stare right after walking into the Great Hall. It was...amazing. He hadn't quite believed it when he had read about it in Hogwarts, A History but now that he was here, he had to admit to being quite awestruck. A LOT actually. Wow...just wow. We really wished Valerie could see this.

He was way too riveted by the Great Hall's ceiling, the candles and just in general the whole hall to pay too much attention to where exactly he was going. So when all of a sudden he heard his name being called, Lewis was more than a little surprised when he realized that he was in line at the Sorting Hat.

Yes, he had read all about that. And there had been pictures and stuff so he knew what this was about. Not that any of that made him feel any less anxious. Swallowing hard the fifth year made his way over to the stool the hat was sitting on, completely aware that his cheeks were probably bright red. Not looking anywhere in particular but simply staring straight ahead at the floor, Lewis waited for the hat's...verdict. Hopefully it would be quick.

"Oooh. Who do we have here?" Was he supposed to ANSWER the hat?! Lewis bit his lip nervously, unsure of how to proceed. "Now where to put you...hmm..." The hat's musings continued but Lewis wasn't really paying attention anymore. What if there was no house for him? What if he didn't belong anywhere? Why did they have to move in the first place? Why couldn't he have just stayed behind? Somewhere he actually knew people. Somewhere he had grown up. Somewhere he belonged. Would he be allowed to go back if the hat thought there was no house for him?

"Oh, I know, I'll put you in....HUFFLEPUFF! *"

Hufflepuff? So there WAS a house for him after all. Oh well. He wasn't quite sure if he was supposed to be happy or sad about that. Quickly getting off the stool, Lewis made his way over to the table which was clearly the Hufflepuff table. So this was it then.

*And yes, the Sorting Hat made exactly THAT FACE when he announced which house he'd be in.
