Jezz slowly and nervously made her way up to the sorting hat. She was more than paranoied about the house where she would be placed but as she had been saying all along, a house is a house. She sat on the stool and the second the hat touched her head she heard a voice whispering in her ear.

It started with there being a lit but tamed fire in her soul just waiting to burst free and lead to learning about herself by following her own path and not that of her parents, which gave Jezz a moment of panic. The two houses she really wanted in she wouldn't be in because of her parents.

From there the hat mentioned a lot about her recent bravery but it didn't make any sense from there on out. You have a lot to learn about yourself Jezzabelle Antoinette and there is only one house I can think of that would help your true self blossom and allow that tamed flame become wild...

GRYFFINDOR!

Jezz placed the hat down and walked away from the stool doing a double take. The hat had said that she would better off not being in the same house as her parents and yet, her dad had been in Gryffindor. So wasn't that a contradiction? She stopped thinking about it because she had gotten into the house she wanted after all and could have ran, skipped, or danced to the Gryffindor table with her building excitement.
