So what if Ellie took her time coming down to the feast? No one would notice, right?

But she was here now. And she knew exactly where she was sitting, once she saw a familiar face. Not Vashti's, though, as she already saw the girl on the train, but the girl received a smile. Her target, actually, was Max. She dashed over to him, literally as he was one of those she was most looking forward to seeing again. She slipped onto the bench beside him and wrapped her arms around his torso.
