When she heard the concern in Alec's voice when he asked her whether she was okay, Alyssa's smile wavered for a second. But she quickly forced it back upmbecause she didn't want him to have to worry about her. He was too young to have to hear about her depressing life. Alyssa sighed and thought about Kita. She missed the older girl especially more right now, because Kita always knew how to make her feel better. 'But enough about Kita. You have Alec here and he's worried about you, so put on that smile, Alyssa,' Alyssa thought to herself.

"Oh yes, Alec. I'm fine. I was just missing my family and feeling lonely. But now that I have you here as my friend, I don't feel so lonely anymore." Alyssa told him, hoping that he would believe her lie. "So tell me more about yourself, and I'll tell you more about me." Alyssa asked the younger boy.
