Oh geez... the guy was excited about art? BOOOOOORING! "I do neither, actually. My brother does a little of everything though. He is certainly the creative one," the boy responded a bit bitterly. "I prefer to write. I was the editor of my school yearbook back in Greece." SHRUG. Not that that was a big deal or anything. Even if it was, Mortimer wouldn't make it a big deal. "Hope I can do some writing at Hogwarts." Letting his eyes scan the area once more he sighed. "Is it always overcast here?"
"Oh, ok," Alex said. Taryn. That didn't sound like a familiar name, although Alex preferred not to socialize with the Slytherins if at all possible. They always called him names and picked on him and stuff. Not cool.

Alex was a tad disappointed that this dude wasn't an artist like himself--very few people at Hogwarts were, it seemed--but he WAS a writer which was almost just as cool! Alex had never really had a way with words but he always wished he had--then he could make comics and all that stuff. "Well, we do have a yearbook and stuff here, I'm sure you'd be able to jump into that no problem!" he encouraged him.

He looked up at the sky, noting that it WAS particularly overcast today, and shrugged. "Yeah, not always though--I mean, we DO see the sun every once in a while," he replied with a small chuckle.

"I'm Alex, by the way," he added. He wasn't sure he'd introduced himself since the conversation had started. What bad manners!
