a Time Capsule!
photo editing by sweetpinkpixie Thing's you'll need:
a plain box (available at all craft stores)
acryllic paint - your choice of colour(s)
other accessories (ribbon, glitter, photos, text etc.)
PVA glue
paint brushes
crepe paper/tissue paper (for presentation)
Method: [1] Work out your design. Anything goes. Feel free to experiment with images, text, shapes and colours. You could make it about a person, about a year e.g. 2011, a place etc.
[2] Once you've worked out your design, it's time to execute your ideas. Start painting, glueing etc. Remember to allow for drying time between applications of paint and glue.
[3] After your design is complete, fold or roll up your crepe paper/tissue paper and cut thin strips to make a soft bed of paper for presentation purposes. Place these in the box/ time capsule and fill it with items that mean something to you/ the person you are gifting it to.
Tricks of the Trade:
This gift has been made and tested by your little helper
Hera and she has a few tips and tricks you might be interested in.
[1] Be creative! Anything works, but it's always best to pick a theme that you or your friend can relate to. Clocks, hold a special meaning for myself and a friend. Haha.
[2] As always be careful when you're painting, and be patient.
[3] Planning your design is important, otherwise you might make a mess of it. So plan, plan, plan!
