"This doesn't change a thing you know," Lily smiled, her emerald eyes twinkling in the candlelight. "You're still my best friend."

Nodding and with a smile on his face, Severus continued on his way to the Slytherin table where he took a seat beside his housemate.

"You're better off without her. Mudbloods like her are best kept away from us. Lower than house elves they are."

Eyes ablaze, Severus punched the boy square in the nose.

"Don't you EVER say that about her AGAIN!"
