His cart complete with trunk was in front of him as he wheeled it away for the next people to come through. Which unless something happened to delay them would likely be his mum and sister since Celeste had insisted they take the wall together for the first time.
Not that Kacie hadn't come with them before to see him off.
Fine by him, it allowed him chance to look around for any familiar faces already there on the platform before Kacie got to them. Although how he was to find anyone on the already crowded platform was beyond him. It had probably been easier to simply run into Kurumi and Selina last year then to actually look and find them this year. Nevertheless, Gideon looked around anyway, stopping as a few excited 2nd years walked past him chatting on a mile a minute about the upcoming term.
Selina stuck her hands in her pockets and walked down the platform taking in the sight of the platform. Her family was being so slow. She had no clue what took so long to get through a brick wall, but she was done waiting for them. They would find her no doubt. Jake Skylar had almost a homing device when it came to his family, then again Selina's bright red hair did make her stick out in the crowd.
Her arms pushed her cart around and she stuck her face by Hermes cage. The owl hooted and turned away from her. Hermes was upset with Selina because she had been sending him out all summer to Japan and Scotland. Poor bird just wanted some rest, but Selina needed to communicate with her friends.
As she walked down the platform she saw a familiar sight of brown curly hair. She walked up behind him and set her cart to a stop. Then she wrapped her arms around his middle and said,
"Hey there stranger."
