Great she made herself laugh, because her pet bird didn't like someone.
Awkward.
"Everyone misses their family," Joanna said still smiling. She remembered how homesick she got last year, it was awful. She wanted to add the fact that some can meet their family at Christmas unlike her which couldn't because her family which is from Alaska. But the Ravenclaw decided not to because it was a bit rude and out-of-place. "So..." she began saying, "Do you read books," it was a random question, but books was a subject that most of the people she knew could relate to and talk about. So maybe Thea was a book-person? But Joanna doubts it, Thea didn't seem like a bookworm, but the fourth year might be surprised.
Despite herself, Thea laughed at Stares.
What a weird bird.. Stretching out a leg, she aimed a kick at Leo, as he walked past with a friend of his.
'Being nice I hope, little sister?..' He called as he walked past with his friend. He nodded at a girl he recognised from his year and winked at Thea.
The Gryffindor scowled and stuck her tounge out at her brother.
'Idiot...' she muttered, watching him go. Turning to Joanna, her eyes widened slightly, suprised at the question.
'Umm..' Thea squirmed. Joanna looked like a total 'boffiny type'. Thea wasn't really into books that much as she found it hard to recognise. Her Mother often pointed out how similar her and her brothers were to each other, even though they all often denied being related..
'Not a lot..' She finally replied,
'But I do read sometimes?..' Thea trailed off lamely.
'You do, I guess?' The lion smiled.
