Ariella pushed her cart ahead hurriedly, slumping her shoulders and trying to appear as short as possible. She had grown another three inches over the summer, and was tired of being the beanpole. "Ariella! Posture," her mother corrected her from behind. Ariella groaned. Her mother's reprimanding just made her want to rebel even more. Her summer was not one that she wanted to remember, and she was quite eager to get back to Hogwarts so she could escape from all of the problems going on at home. Once she reached the entrance to the station, she turned around so she was facing her parents. "I think I'm okay from now on. I'll send you an owl when I get there," Ariella told them as politely as possible. She did not want her parents to walk in with her. Besides, they probably didn't even want to be there in the first place, anyways. "Are you sure, Ari?" her dad said, shoving his hand into his pocket. Ariella nodded. Her father handed her a little bag jingling with coins. "In case you need it." "Thanks," she responded. Her parents both gave her a kiss on the cheek and hug before Ariella pushed her cart inside the station, mentally checking that she had everything she need. Broom? Check. Books? Check. Athena? Check. She was good to go, and was ready for whatever this year was going to throw at her. |
