As much as she loved summer, because she got to see her family and relax, there was something about school that she could not put her finger on. Something that made her insides warm and her head feel all crazy. It also, perhaps, something to do with the beautiful red, Captain badge that she was sporting on her shirt. Perhaps it was not the best combination of colors, but she was so thrilled that she had been pretty much wearing it all summer. She was now allowed to do what she loved completely- Quidditch. She turned her head around and yelled behind herself as she saw her family walking very slowly behind her,
"Oi! You lot! Hurry up, I have a train to catch. CAN'T MISS IT!" With that she walked closer to the platform until she stepped right in front of the brick wall... there it was.
"If she yells at me one more time I am going to have to hurt that girl," Sophie remarked to her husband who was currently pushing the cart of their fourteen year old daughter. She loved Selina, but she was too excitable for her own good. Everything had to be done on Selina time or else it was no good. Sophie liked to do things right and sometimes that took time- like walking. Walking did not mean running and screaming like a loon, which was precisely what Selina was doing at that moment. Jake chuckled and his pale blue eyes sparkled with mischief at his wife, "Come on Phia, you know that she is just excited. Let the girl have her fun. Besides, its always fun to mess with the Muggles around here." Besides, it was nice to see his daughter looking so excited and childlike. As of late she had been so "adult like". Everything was fourth year this, Gideon that, Captain, etc. All of those topics made him feel very old, especially that second topic. But he promised Sophie that if he saw the Gert kid at the platform he would be on his behavior. Messing with Sophie was not something he was keen on doing. Finally her parents arrived with the James children at the wall to platform nine and three quarters,
"Well come on you lot!" She was too excited.
Rolling his eyes with a smile, Christopher pushed his cart through King's Cross Station, used to the strange stares of the Muggles. Of course they were still in their Muggle clothes, but Mr. and Mrs. Skylar were wearing their casual robes- still unusual for Muggle eyes. And the luggage carts and owls weren't exactly classified as normal either. But he found the stares almost amusing, though London in 2076 wasn't full of the most normal people anyway.
"Oh quit your yapping, we're coming!" he called to the redhead, who was way ahead of him. Pushing his way through the crowd, he grinned at the Skylar adults, who clearly felt the same way he did. The sooner they got Selina to hush the better. That girl could be so
demanding sometimes! Looking up at Elyon, who was perched on his cart and looking around at everyone in a daze.
"How're you doing up there, El?" he asked, as if speaking to a little child, trying to mask the worry in his voice. He was always worried when it came to her.
Sitting on top of the cart, holding her knees to her chest, Elyon sat her head on her knees, tilting it as she watched all of the people around her. She was fourteen. She would be a fourth year. She was growing up and she didn't like it. Couldn't she just stay a kid forever and never grow up? Couldn't she stay home and not go to school? She wanted to be back in her real home, not here with Sely's family. They were nice, but they weren't her family. She didn't know them.
Looking down at her big brother, she said nothing. She just looked at him and blinked a few times. She wanted to smile back, and say 'Yes! I am!' But she wasn't. She couldn't find the strength to smile. She had forgotten how. She couldn't even speak- words no longer came out of her mouth. So she sat and stared, and poked his nose to let him know that she was still in that brain of hers, sometimes.
