Anya hugged both of her parents goodbye. This was as far as they would come. She was now starting understand why Carter hated the statute so much and she finally understood why she didn't know about magic until last year.
"Bye mum. Dad." she said giving each of them a kiss. "I promise to be good and write more often than Carter did." she shot her older brother a superior look.
"I'll make sure she gets on the train." Carter said with a nod to his parents. He couldn't imagine what they were thinking. What were the chances that Anya would be magical too?
Carter had no idea. But he was grateful. He'd been wanting to share everything about the wizarding world to his family. And now... he had the chance with Anya. They had a summer full of quidditch and Diagon Alley together. Anya had met most of his friends. And now she was about to embark on the greatest adventure she could possibly have.
Carter couldn't have been prouder.
Anya turned her back on the Phillips parents and headed onward. She wasn't going to look back. Not that it mattered if she did. Her eyes were all out of tears. She'd spent most of the night crying about leaving behind her friends. Well... she was crying over on in particular.
"Come on then. I don't want to be late." she insisted.
Carter motioned for Marilyn to go ahead in front of him. He then took over Anya's trolley from his dad and headed after the two girls.
