All these items are available from a good crafts store. Method: [1] Start by cutting off the top portion of the paper bag (depending on how tall you want your lantern to be).
[2] Then by using a decorative single hole punch, punch holes/shapes into the paper bag. For my demonstration I've used a snowflake hole punch, but anything works.
[3] Turn on your light(s), pop them in the bottom of your bag and enjoy the flickering glow. One light will work, but feel free to use more if you wish.
Tricks of the Trade:
This gift has been made and tested by your little helper
Hera and she has a few tips and tricks you might be interested in.
[1] If you can't get your hand on a decorative hole punch, you can still use a normal one, but work out a design before you start punching.
[2] If like me you get a terrible hole punch which doesn't reach far enough down the length of the paper bag, using scissors cut down the middle and then sticky tape the inside up when you're done. The effect is still the same.
CAUTION: Do NOT use real candles in a PAPER bag... it's a bit of a fire hazard.
