Jez_2 let out a howling scream of fury as white light encased her. Jez covered her eyes with her arm to protect them, and when she looked again, her clone was gone. She breathed a sigh of relief, and glanced at Nate. "Thank you," she said quietly.
Awkward pause. Jez bit her lip and looked at the floor, ceiling, dummies in the corner, anywhere except at Nate. A few hours ago she'd told him she wanted to end anything between them, and then realised she'd made the biggest mistake of her life so far. How do you put that in words? She already had, but she didn't want to repeat herself. Her pride got in the way at the most annoying times.
