Gideon was trying to think of the best way to proceed since the hippogriff had settled back in place on solid ground but still hadn't shown any sign of the response he needed according to their instructor to proceed. Biting the inside of his cheek, the Gryffindor bowed a bit lower, careful to move slowly and steadily rather then with sudden movements. The fourth year kept his eyes locked with the creatures as best he could though with his new position it was getting harder without feeling too much discomfort.
Finally he noticed movement in front of him and being sure to stay still at that point, he watched without blinking as the hippogriff shifted its front legs. Gideon almost thought the creature was still unsettled about his presence nearby and froze in position thinking he might need to back off in the Hippogriff freaked out. However his animal companion then it started to lower down onto one of its front limbs making him smile softly. The boy not wanting to be too enthusiastic and wind up frightening the hippogriff and needing to start over or run completely away. But he still could be excited on the inside.
