Default Post #5- Making the Wand
Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna

So he had done the research...he had picked out his supplies ...now all Gideon had to do was actually make the wand. He checked his notes on the actual assignment to see if Professor Scabior had given specific instructions on what to do but none were given so he'd need to go by what he knew on charms and such. First things first, his twig was too long in his opinion, so after eyeing where he figured it should end, he took out his own wand. "Diffindo!" he cast with the slashing movement cutting a few inches from the end. It was a little rough at the tip but he could work it out later on.

Placing his wand on the table top knowing he'd be using it again soon enough, Gideon glanced between the thick twig and feathers and back trying to figure out how to get one inside the other like he suspected wand makers might. Although they were usually hollow anyway. he obviously needed to cut into his wood so he paused in thought for a couple of minutes for the best idea finally coming up with something that could work. "Flipnsnipwitit," he cast, using a karate chop though doing his best to focus on the spell evenly along the whole length of the wood. It took a few attempts but eventually the twig was successfully got in half.

The Gryffindor then switched to the gouging spell to give some room for the makeshift core. For this he had hold the half rounds one at a time carefully and straight on their rounded sides while he worked. "Defodio," he cast, digging out some of the interior of each side of his twig. "Defodio." That seemed to do the trick and Gideon soon had the two halves ready to be filled. Rolling the feathers a little to make them narrower, he laid them down inside one half before setting the other side on top. "Now to fix them back together..." he mused quietly with a hand to his chin as he thought...a simple mending charm should do the trick.

"Reparo!" he cast dragging it along the cracks as he focused the spell as best he could sealing the wand together once more. Gideon couldn't help smiling as everything seemed to be working out and his make-believe wand was looking half-way decent at least. With an added "Glisseo," he smoothed out the wood simply for appearance sake before picking it up and giving the would-be wand a playful wave. Quite happy with the progress, the Gryffindor cleaned up his work and put both wands safe and securly in his pocket before leaving the room to head back to the tower to finish his write up of the project.
