A shadow was cast down over the pages of Sigrid's book, and the young woman looked up to see what had caused it. Another woman was nearby, leaning over a neighboring desk.
'She looks like she's waiting for someone.' Sigrid thought and lowered her book slightly. "Excuse me." She voiced up, "Are you looking for anyone in particular? I can help if you need assistance." Sigrid cracked into a little bit of a smile and chuckled. "Don't know how much help I would be though, me being new and all that."
Laura straightened up at the sound of a woman's voice she suspected was directed to her and turned to face an employee who was in fact sitting at one of the nearby desks. By the looks of it, she was now face to face with her one and only permitting officer. How lovely to not be kept waiting.
"Actually, I'm quite new-ish too, and I believe you are just the person I was looking for. Though we've never properly met before," Laura said. She absently put down her things on the closest desk and extended a hand toward the other woman for a quick shake.
"I'm the permitting director, Laura Miller. I was hoping I might have a word with you about some transportation matters. I understand you haven't been here long, but two heads are better than one, in any case."
