"I'm done with it," he finally stated, officially making known his stance one way or the other. Despite the fact that they were silenced and among no one else, he leaned forward and looked Bole in the eye. "Our Ministry has been made into a laughing stock with absolutely no regard to what it's purpose is in the first place." He glanced across the room, and then looked back at Bole as he returned to an upright position. "What do you have?" he asked with an upward nod, meaning the proposition that was brought up.

He asked this last part conversationally, knowing it to be true.

"What did they promise you? Power?" He scoffed a bit. "With the cult in place, with D'Isigny pulling the strings and Borr playing figurehead, you'll never get it and if you ever got close Gevrik would cut your throat. But I can give you power."

He could. If Greingoth was willing.

"We need a new leader. When all is said and done. Someone needs to step up and show the people that we can be united. That the Ministry is for them. That our world is safe. I believe you're that man, Alexander."

His expression changed again.

"The cult needs to go."

...but then he played a card that didn't sit well with Alexander. The whole 'rumor you were one' line. He had been one, yes, as had his fiancee. As had Van's fiancee. "Well, I'm sure if we dig deep enough, we all know someone who may be connected," he brought up. In other words, you bury mine, I'll bury yours. ...and in the longrun, what was important was moving forward, which was quite possibly what they were doing now.

Had they offered him power? "I don't accept promises of power," he remarked. No one ever went anywhere but down when they were promised power. He propped his elbow on the back of the chair and then stared at a napkin dispenser as he collected his thoughts. "Let it be known that I agree with what's been said about the Cult; and also let it be known that if you are sincere about your beliefs, which I believe you are, then I am on board with assisting in a plan to remove Borr from office," he continued. "In doing so, however, I will earn my own power, ...as well as--an allegiance with you?"

Upon hearing that Bole believed Alexander could step up and take on the Minister role, the Senior Undersecretary turned his gaze back to the man across the table. "I'm assuming that you've already lined out a plan?" he asked. "So what is it? What are we looking at here?"

"Removing Borr from office and eliminating the Cult of Walpurgis from the Ministry of Magic and destroying its foothold within Britain as a whole." Evander clarified. No half measures, Greingoth. "In doing so, you'll be the new Minister of Magic, and I will remain head of Law Enforcement and support your new ministry... with the autonomy required for my people to do their jobs and keep the Wizarding population safe." Just to be clear. None of this ridiculous business with apparition licenses and the like. No roadblocks.

"Its in motion." He agreed, and leaned forward to outline the plan in a low voice, not quite trusting the silencing charms.

Paranoia. He had it.
....to be continued...
