“What do you mean? You ate chicken yesterday, Calvin!” Whitney was growing frustrated with her 13-year-old son.

Cal sat up straighter and looked right into his mother’s eyes. “I mean, I don’t eat chicken. Dad said it was okay!”

Whitney could not believe what she was hearing. “I’m not saying it isn’t okay!” She realized she was raising her voice and lowered it quickly. “But why couldn’t you have told me this before I started cooking?”

With a smirk on his face, Cal looked down into his hands and said, “I didn’t think of being a vegetarian until now.”

‘Unbelievable.’
