Her smile hid the bitterness of her smile, "..during Christmas but I didn't want to go even if I'm dying to see what did the city I was born in look like. I just don't want to do it with people I don't really appreciate." Heh.

Another song was played and she slowed their moves a bit, matching the slow beat. "You see that Carter boy we just.. bumped into?" Yes, that was relevant to their conversation, "I don't always appreciate his comments but he gave me hope somehow and unintentionally." Looking over Joao's shoulder blankly, "Like.. there is truly a Carter family out there. A magical one, too. That was what I needed to believe in a Carter father. I didn't even know that before I met the boy." Even if meeting him wasn't so fancy and goodie.
