But I like my people close to me." He said. "No matter who... or what they are."

He touched a fabric on robes that were beside him, and he cast a muffliato charm to cover the . "I was very put out when Sully was killed." He said crushing the velvet in his hand. "I understand it was a young woman who... did it. So, while you are here, working for me, I want you to find out who this woman is... and... take care of her." He then smiled wide. "Enough about work. How are you? I heard your boyfriend is no longer in the picture..." He asked.
At the sound of her name, Veronica's hands froze upon the box she'd been fumbling. She couldn't decide if she was comforted or frightened by the sound of it; but either way, she wasn't forced with having to face him, so she guessed it didn't matter.

"I didn't have a choice," she truthfully spoke, and then she paced a little but still didn't turn around. "The apartment is just fine." The truth was, it was the best home she'd had in years, possibly even counting the one she'd shared with Philippe. Where she'd been staying hadn't been sufficient, but the anger boiling inside of her prevented her from saying such. She hated the fact that he'd never look at her.

Though her back was turned to him, she sensed the presence of the charm he'd cast. She tilted her head slightly to the side to acknowledge that she'd heard him. "I'll see to it that it's taken care of," she replied. Then Philippe was brought up, and she felt her blood run cold at the very mention of his name. "Philippe is in France, and I won't be seeing him anytime soon." That was her answer. Whether she intended it to be mysterious or not was still a mystery even to her. "...and I'm much better now that I'm not slaving over snot-nosed children."
