Not that he wasn’t an attractive man, but she was in love with Nye.
She’d have to look up this man’s file, his stories were not acceptable.
Medea had only made it a couple steps when the young man had grabbed her arm and questioned her. ”I, what are you? doing!” She was completely stunned, and at a loss for words. The dark haired woman looked from the hand on her up to its owner’s face. So many questions, why did he think they dated? How did he know about Nye? And what did it matter to him? ”That bloke” she repeated back to him, ”Nye? Yes I’m marrying him tomorrow.” Finally getting her mind back in order she took her free hand and tried to pry his grip off her. ”I’m sorry but why does it matter to you?” He was certainly stronger than he looked, she couldn’t get lose. ”And LET GO OF ME!”
What in the world? What was wrong with that woman? Just because they had somewhat of a rough breakup, didn't mean Medea had to treat Mason like a complete stranger. Sure, he knew she lacked in the human appreciation department, but this was just harsh. Mason furrowed his eyebrows and stared at her incredulously. "I would sure hope you remember dating me. And I would at least expect you to remember how you broke my heart... And don't call me Sir, Medea." He pointed at her moodily. "Whatever you're playing at, stop. Okay? It's annoying and I deserve better than your stupid games."
Yeah. Stupid. He said it to the Junior Assistant Secretary Under-whatever-the-hell she was.
And the incredulous stare continued. And then it turned to slight anger, and confusion and bewilderment. He felt her trying to pry her fingers, off, but he swatted her hand away and wouldn't let go. "You can't marry that guy. He's got as much brains a drunken flobberworm!"
When Medea yelled at him, Mason finally let go and took a step back. He looked at her really hard then and sort of analyzed her. Her appearance, her voice, her facial expression, her body language... It was all different. It was all... Not Medea Ward. "There's something wrong with you." He said quietly, almost a whisper. "You're not the same person." He said even quieter. It was like she had completely changed. Forgotten everything they once had and wanted nothing to do with him. Almost as if she was under the imperius curse or something... Mason shook his head. That was just a ridiculous thought, though.
