She did feel incredibly guilty. Ugh, Marie had her all messed up. That whole Hate Potion thing was messing her mind up. Wow...embarrassing...

"Oh, Carter...I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to...I messed it up, didn't I?" The Slytherin was giving him a weird look.

Carter took a seat at the table. "No. No. It's fine." he said. He just figured Marilyn was beyond Marie's little mind games.

He raised an eyebrow noticing her expression. "Everything alright? You didn't seriously believe Marie, did you?" ~~Hopefully not, considering she often criticized Caroline for the same thing.~~

She was probably disappointed in his surprise... should he be honest and tell her that Valentine's day had slipped his mind and this was the best he could throw together?

She'd probably be upset if he said something like that.
