The question that came out of the Hufflepuff's mouth however was not at all what he had expected. It was quite random in fact...however it did have to do with History. Dash raised his hand to his chin, thinking for a moment before speaking. "Well, I bet a few people knowable of the workings of a time turner probably took that into consideration. But a time turner is a very rare object. Very hard to find. So even if they wanted to go back in time and change outcomes they wouldn't be able to." Yes. That was one reason. "In addition to that...how would you stop an object from falling on someone or Voldemort from killing them? Push them out of the way? In that terms the time traveler would be killed. Time traveling is...very dangerous..and very complex and there was far too much fear at that time for any wizards really to wand to deal with something that complex that could make things far worse." Hopefully that cleared some things up.
Dash quickly sat down and leaned back in his chair. Was he suppose to say your welcome? Wasn't it his job to listen to the problems of students? "Tea?" He offered pointing to his levitating tea pot.
Alyssa listened to the Professor's explanation. She nodded in understanding. "
I guess you're right, Professor. It would have been very dangerous indeed, and the person wouldn't know that if by saving somebody, whether someone else who had actually survived the battle, would have died instead because of their actions. Thank you for clearing up that question for me."
Alyssa had often wondered why even though there were people who were in possession of the time turner and were present at the battle, hadn't thought of using it. Now she knew the answer to that question. She had always wanted to ask her Great Grand Aunt, but was now glad that she hadn't.
Alyssa had other questions to ask the Professor but she noticed that the Prefect from Gryffindor had something to say to the Professor in private, so Alyssa decided to leave.
"
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, Professor," Alyssa smiled thanking the Professor and silently made her way out of his office.
