Merlin. Kid had a pretty strong handshake. Vashti was no wimp, considering she played Quidditch and threw Quaffles around a lot, but still, Dashiel had a pretty firm handshake. She hadn't really expected it. Not that he looked like a wimp either, of course. She just didn't get too many firm handshakes from people. Usually they were something in-between strong and weak.

She grinned when he agreed that it was like the cat. "Awesome." She nodded when he said she was a Ravenclaw - which meant he wasn't, since she hadn't seen him until now. "I'm a sixth year," she answered. "What about you?" She doubted he was a sixth year since she hadn't seen him until now - unless he was a transfer or something. She might not've seen him around if that was the case. He looked to be somewhere around her age either way; certainly not a first or second year.
