Here's chapter four, guys!

Chapter 4: Late Night
I don't not own Harry Potter nor do I own Alex Hendricks. They belong to J.K Rowling and CrazySammi respectively.

I sniffled for about the fifteenth time as I walked back down to the common room. Having my nose repaired made it feel weird.

I stepped into the common room, and looked around and then checked my watch, shocked at how late it really was.

"BOO!" Alex whispered loudly, grabbing my shoulders, then covering my mouth when I nearly screamed.

"Hendricks, that was not funny!" I said, pouting. He chuckled.

"Sorry," he said, with that trademark half-smile that made my aching heart skip a beat.

"Hey...Alex..." I started.

"Yeah?" he looked up from where he was sprawled across the sofa.

"If you loved someone...would you admit it to their face?" I asked.

"It depends. If she's totally clueless and doesn't know I exist, I'd start an argument and let it slip," he replied. I thought about it. Looks like I needed a topic to fight with him about. "Wait...why? You like someone?"

"More like love, actually. He knows I exist...and talks to me...but I don't know how to tell him," I said quietly. I was startled when he wrapped his arms around me and enveloped me in a warm, strong hug.

"Just give it time, AnnaLeah. Things will fall into place eventually," he said, giving me a final squeeze before letting me go and tugging a loose curl, watching it bounce before flicking it from my face, laughing at the shade of red my face turned.

"Thanks, Alex," I said quietly. He smiled and patted my cheeks playfully.

I stood up. "Well, Alex, I-I'll talk to you tomorrow. G-good night," I stammered, stumbling upstairs and pulling the curtains around the four-poster, so I could collapse on the bed and cry my eyes out in piece.

I could have told him the truth.

I was in love with him.

But no. I was too chicken. What was wrong with me?! I couldn't say three simple words?

I needed to sleep on it.
