SPOILER!!: DH Vixen
Mina had to nodded and smile. "Okay, you have me there. I won't, but you never know it could be possible." She couldn't completely turn her back on the other places like that. Madame Puddifoot's did have the best cheesecake after all. "I'm sure it's not that depressing to everyone. Besides, maybe some people liked being depressed." Well, she didn't and she knew that Mia had a point. She wasn't really going to frequent the place that much. Today was for a reason, but she wouldn't completely avoid the place any more.
"I think I just let my imagination get away a bit when it came to what I thought things would be like now." She thought she had an idea of how things were going to turn out, but she wasn't a seer. She was just part of some family prophecy from way back. Her life was supposed to be laid out before her, but she did her best to guide herself away from what was expected of her and in the direction that she saw herself going. Hearing Mia talking about her guy and their friends, make Mina smile. "I never imagined that I would leave Hogwarts back in third year after finally finding the guy that made me want to be just me and not someone else. I always saw myself going to school here, but I found my way back and things changed so much. It was good, but it just took me a while to get use to it again." She felt like a stranger again in her own home and that scared her last year. "I never expected to make such great friends from all the houses and to finally realize there was only one guy here that made fighting for what I want worth it." She really did owe it to her friends and Even for getting her out of her funk last year. Her journey through Hogwarts wasn't an easy one, but at least she had friends with her and she was thankful for that.
Mina thought about it and cracked a smile. "I was never no for change, but you're right. It's all for the best. A new great adventure would be nice." She thought about just where life was going to take her and she was happy about most of it. She knew that her time there had prepped her for the real world and she could enter that world ready for what it threw at her. Besides, she knew that she wasn't alone out there and she had someone waiting for her.
Mina gave a nod and a tiny smile. It was really the first time she had said it out loud what she was doing, but it felt good. She was really freeing herself of the burden of that demon by just voicing what she was doing. "I know I should be able to move on now. I can't go back and change it, it happened and I survived. It made me stronger and it taught me who I was and who I could be." There were dark aspects to her and she saw some of them surface during that time, but she wouldn't allow them to control her again. "Going through it makes me the person I am now and I wouldn't change what happened if I could." Going through it was damaging, but she didn't want to know what kind of person she might have been if she wasn't tested like that. There had to be some kind of silver lining to what happened.
Shaking her head of her thoughts, she looked back to Mia and nodded. "Could you please," she asked with a small smile. "Tell the barkeep I'll even take the umbrella too." She actually could do with a few of whatever was coming back to her in the dingy glasses. Her senses were telling her it wasn't going to be a pleasant afternoon for her anymore.
Mina knew that she had to be at least civil at the moment and nodded to Mia. She didn't want to put Mia in the middle of something but she couldn't be rude either. She could hold her tongue for a while for the afternoon.
"Not at all, the more the merrier."
It was going to be a task, but after the talk they just had; she was pretty sure she could handle being civil for a bit. She had gone through a million times worst and she was still standing.
Mia was asking her if she wanted something to drink and Mina was nodding her head. Smiling at the both of them, Marilyn nodded to Mia.
"Whatever you're drinking will be fine, thank you."
...Taking a seat, she placed her bad on her lap...mostly so that it wouldn't get stolen. This was a shifty place...
Mina looked vastly uncomfortable and the blonde could understand why. Word had spread throughout Hogwarts like wildfire about the incident at the Front Gate. They weren't exactly being quiet, which was obvious in the fact that so many people had overheard.
Obvious in the way that Marilyn had been hit with it from all sides. It seemed certain people couldn't wait to rub the knowledge in her face.
Overall, the Slytherin was unimpressed by the situation. That wasn't exactly the right venue to have such a conversation, Mina and Carter should have both realized.
"Mina, I believe you and I need to talk...and I'm not opposed to doing this with your friends present. I don't want you to feel like I'm attacking you in anyway..." Because she wasn't. The air needed to cleared. Things had been said that weren't true...and if there was one thing the Slytherin girl could not stand, it was people saying things that weren't true...about her. She didn't care what was said about anyone else.
Wouldn't you know it? She shows up!
Seriously...And she'd tugged Destiny in with her.
It wasn't like Marilyn wanted to hurt Mina. No, that was not it...but a talk needed to be hand. Things were getting blown out of proportion and that was just unacceptable. It was making Marilyn look bad...and that was something that was NOT going to happen.
If Marie wanted to listen in, fine. But this wasn't about her.
"I'm just about to have a chat with Mina here...about a few things. I don't mind doing this in front of everyone."
