Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ Quote:

Well he was extremely interested in my line of work and I would go back to our apartment after work and regale him with all of the gory details. It was how I kept sane." He paused for a moment and ran a hand through his hair. "Well I got involved in this case... really nasty business. Dark wizard that was hunting down and killing people at random. Or so it seemed that way... long story short: My trainer and I were out in the field one day tracking the man and were very SURE that no one would come along to mess that up... when my buddy showed up. Sean was his name. He came up to me and tried to talk and it was obvious we knew one another. Apparently the killer...or one of his associates... saw this and eventually used it against me. They kidnapped my best friend and tortured him for information on me, the case, and others within the Department since I told him everything. I nearly ended my career because I was too ignorant to heed the simplest of rules." That was more personal mess than most anyone knew about him...
"We can't discuss the things we do and the things we know for a multitude of reasons. That being one of them, but it is against the laws that we uphold to share confidential information with those outside of our own line of work, Sabel. You have to understand that. I thought we were clear..."
He sighed once more and caught the reflection of himself in the mirror... he looked like hell. Damien didn't even turn to look at the idiot Muggle freak. Instead he simply drawled, "First off do not raise your voice and me and do not glare as such. Secondly I think it's quite clear is it not? He's cleaning mooncalf dung off the bathroom floor with a toothbrush." It DID look exactly like it WAS. Quote:

But when Ben opened the door, he didn't expect to see what he saw. "What the HELL is going on in here???" A stern look towards Damien. Sabel was still as Damien spoke. He hadn't expected Damien to open up so easily about his past, or about that sort of pain. Part of his heart went out to the man with agonizing sympathy, but there was a part that wouldn't listen, that was still cold. Still angry. Excuses were made in his mind, objections and defenses, but they didn't reach his tongue. Any words would be like a slap in the face to Damien. Whatever anger he had, whatever things he needed to say, to work out, now was not the time.
So, he remained silent, dunking the toothbrush and starting to scrub. Even when the Detective came in, he only spared the man a slight glance. Damien clearly had it covered, though he couldn't say he appreciated the hostility the man spared towards his boss. But not speaking was a very wise idea for him right now. Not until he could quell some of the anger. So he turned most of his attention back to his task, half an ear and mind on the new addition to the situation.
