Setting the box on the table she took off the lid. Carefully lifting the plastic tray out she then set it down in the center of the table. Taking the twenty white marbles she deposited them in their chutes, ready to be released. And devoured. She took the box off the table and pulled four chairs around it so that anyone who wanted to play could. She readjusted the plastic tray so that each chair at the table had one of the hippos right square in front of it all equal distance. She looked down at the four hippos an orange one, a yellow one, a green one and a pink. She sat in front of the orange one and waited for others to join. Cora walked nervously into the classroom. She was going to meet Jesifur to play a game for homework. She hadn't really talked to Jesifur, but immediately recognized her in the room sitting next to a table where a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos had been set up.
She walked slowly over to the table where Jesifur sat. Cora was so small for her age and quiet that many didn't notice her. But Cora had decided when she came to Hogwarts she would make friends. She already had a few, and knew she had to be more confident. So, she walked up to Jesifur and quietly said, "Hi. I...I'm Cora." She smiled.
Looking at the game board, she noticed four plastic hippos set up at each side of the board. There were many little marbles in separate sections. Cora wondered about this game. It looked a bit like a game she had played, but she hadn't ever played before. |
