Max was sleepy. He would have preferred camping out in his dormitory for the night, but he could handle Astronomy, right? It really was an interesting class and didn't require him to do too much strenuous thinking.

As he entered the classroom, his eyes first shifted to the blackboard then immediately averted to the empty seats. And there it was. The open seat next to Ellie beckoned him - he hurried to take it before anyone else did. SCOOORE! Sliding into the seat, he flashed Ellie a friendly smile and mindlessly scribbled out his name tag.

He was smooth.
