In fact, she wasn't even going to partner up with anyone until LOLA offered the World a partner. Then... "Little Hutchinson!" Ellie called to Indiana, and made a motion with her head for the girl to come join her. Yeah, she was NOT going to be left with LOLA as her partner.
She could paint the little girl's face. And maybe she'll let Little Hutchinson paint hers. But that was as far as she was going with this 'clown' business.
How incredibly rude! Violet couldn't believe it, just as she had gone up to the Ravenclaw girl and stuck out her hand, another older girl just butted in out of nowhere and ordered her potential partner away, and now Violet was stuck standing alone with her hand out like a fool. And without a partner. And by now everyone was pairing up and she might not be able to find one. Violet hated, hated,
hated assignments where they had to pair up--she didn't know many people, and she had been isolated so much while she was growing up that she wasn't good at socializing.
But she had never been to a carnival and had no idea what a clown was supposed to look like, so she really, really needed another student to pair up with. She turned her head back and forth, looking around the room, desparately hoping she could find another unpaired student.
