Lauren's indecision about her future plans did not surprise her. How many of her friends had the same problem? "You've still got a few years to work it out. Besides, who says you have to have it all worked out? Like I told a friend of mine, probably about eighty per cent of the kids here go out and start work in what they thought was their dream job only to find it's not what they want to do after all." Who knows, Mia could end up being an Auror one day. Highly unlikely but stranger things have happened.
A small chuckle escaped her lips at the look on Lauren's face. "Sometimes I can be totally oblivious to things." Usually when a guy was trying to show interest. "But mostly I have a knack for seeing stuff. I read people really well. And I'm a seventh year. I didn't come to Hogwarts until I was in my fourth year." She gave Lauren a warm smile. "Where did you go before you came here?" [B]"Oh, cool,"[/B/ Lauren said with a smile masking her jealously. Her time at Hogwarts had barely began but already she was wishing it over, how unusual of her... "Will you miss it?" she asked with a slightly tilted head.
She nodded in agreement with Mia's words "Yeah, you're probably right. I don't think I'll ever figure it out though," Lauren shrugged and smiled. "I want to travel though. And I want to do something involving history, I think," she mused. Maybe an archaeologist, or something.
Lauren laughed along with Mia, enjoying her infectious personality. "That's a good trait to have. I'm so socially awkward and all I can read is books," she explained with a laugh. "Oh, cool! I'm glad I'm not alone," she smile in return "I didn't really go to many schools before. At least not for long. I travelled around more than anything else," Lauren explained. |
