Mia chuckled softly at the girl's question and held up her book of 'Functional Pottery' and shrugged her shoulders. "Sort of." she said with a sheepish grin. "It's what I want to do after I graduate so I guess you could say that I am studying."
No doubt the girl was going to think she was weird. Here she was, at a school for magic and she was studying muggle hobbies. She wouldn't be the first person to think her weird. "I'm Mia by the way." She placed the book onto her lap and extended her hand towards the younger girl and giving her a warm smile. "Pottery, huh?" Lauren asked with a lopsided grin. "Awesome, I don't have the hands for it, but it's a useful skill to have. Will that be your specialty?
Lauren wondered briefly what it would be like to have a specialty, or a hobby in particular. She was one of those types who wasn't particularly good at anything. Well, she was a decent flyer, but probably not talented enough to make the Quidditch team. It didn't really bother her, though. She still enjoyed life immensely, after all. "Oh, I'm Lauren," she told Mia with a smile, extending her hand and shaking the other girl's one firmly. "It's a pleasure to meet you." |
