Or she could wonder what a girl like Enya Mayberry be doing wondering the countryside admiring all the landscapes. So not her.
A mess? Oh dear this wasn't going to be good and she wasn't going to enjoy listening to it. Enya moved her head to watch her friend move from the wall and pace a little. She said nothing as she talked, taking it all in which is new for her. Say a few years back she'd have walked away by now but she'd learned to have respect for her best friend. When she stopped talking she said nothing for a moment, anger welling up in her but she contained it, she knew if she showed anything against this guy Louisa was clamp down and tell her nothing.
"What's this guys name?" She asked surprised to hear her voice was calm. She'd have a few talks with this guy yes she would. No one shot down her best friend and got away with it. The old Enya Mayberry was going to come back for this particular meeting.
The countryside? Like, for real? Louisa raised her eyebrows slightly, surprised by that. Didn't Enya live in a fancy house somewhere in London? She must have. "
Umm.. where is that countryside? Did you go abroad on a vacation?" Like Paris perhaps? Enya did mention going to France last Easter holiday so maybe that was the same trip?
Another surprise for Louisa. Why did Enya need the guy's name? Firstly Louisa had sworn not to say his name until this stinging feeling in her chest go away - and considering the itchy sensation she was having pondering this, it was far fetched. Secondly Enya never asked for anyone's name before, never ever. Even their classmates Louisa had to repeat the names deliberately in front of her best friend to make sure Enya doesn't mix them up - the girl didn't care enough to ask for names. Lastly it could never mean something good.
...but Enya was completely calm and balanced. Maybe because she was fifteen now? A big girl with same interests as Louisa? "
Dallin." BAM! Her voice did break a bit at the end of the word but she'd said it. After being so stubborn and insistent on not uttering the letter she actually did it - her heart was still beating and her eyes weren't that wet. Yet, it brought a stream of good bitter memories of them both having fun and being friends. Louisa tried to shut that down waiting for Enya's next words.
Let's just hope that Louisa does turn into someone who needs to protect 'him' from Enya, instead of being the one pulling pranks on him.
