Kleodora bounded into the dormitory, quickly identified her belongings and jumped up on the bed next to them. Leaning over the edge of her bed, she popped open her overstuffed trunk and rifled through the books haphazardly stored there, finally picking out a promising volume on runespoors. Imagining herself grabbing a broomstick and flying off through the night to Burkino Faso to track and befriend these fascinating creatures, she gave an ear-to-ear grin while staring at the book's cover.
Beginning to realize the presence of other girls in the room and that she was probably giving off her typical oddball vibe, she quickly scrubbed the manic glee from her face and leaned over to her trunk again to find her pajamas. She quickly changed into what her mother called "Kleodora's most hideous of hideous clothes". They were originally a very nice pink pajama set patterned with green paisleys. Over the summer, however, Kleodora visited one of her four older brothers, Antares, whose fear of spiders is most severe. He had not always been so, but when he came home after his fifth year at Hogwarts, the smallest of eight-legged creatures would set him off. Apparently he had been involved in some incident inside the Forbidden Forest. The temptation to play on this fear became too overwhelming for Kleodora, so she painted hundreds of spiders all over her pink and green paisley pajamas. After Antares had been asleep for awhile, she rushed into his room screaming on the top of her lungs, "Spiders! Spiders! They're everywhere! They're all over me!" The trick didn't go quite as planned, though, as Antares grabbed his wand and started sending spells in every direction--many of which hit Kleodora, whose boils, pustules, growths and additional limbs took more than a few days to sort out. Antares, however, had the worse; it took two weeks to find him huddled under a diner counter in a nearby muggle village, muttering to himself, and few weeks more under the close surveillance of a psychological team at St. Mungo's to get him more or less right again.
After reliving this recent adventure in her mind, Kleodora gave an abrupt and loud laugh. After several seconds of her mirthful fit, Kleodora again became conscious of the many other girls in the room and quickly drew her covers over her lurid pajamas. Without looking up to see how many of these girls were now staring at their new bizarre roommate, Kleodora grabbed her book, opening to the first page and raised it above her face so that no one could see her flushing cheeks.
"Great," she thought, "Great way to start your seven years at Hogwarts, Kleodora."
