Tom began to nod.. then it slowed and a confused look came over his features. The nodding ceased. Was this a joke? Tom wasn't sure if he should laugh or correct the girl. But she seemed serious, so he went with the latter. “Not squids, Lexi. Maggles ain' tha' weird y'know? I mean quid, pands.. like..” Um.. this was harder to explain than he thought it would be. “..Galleons, y'know? Money.”

There. Explained. As clear as mud.

The girl was bouncing and reminded Tom of his older sister in that moment. He smiled as she brought out her wand from up her sleeve ('Tha' woz clevah.'), and twirled it. “Wiff maagic?” He asked, eyes widening with awe. He chuckled as she enthused about setting things alight. “You'll 'afftah show me though, Lexi. I'm still clueless abou' maagic ain' I?”

He stood up and started towards the door. “You comin' or wot?”

The prospect of magic and he couldn't get out there sooner and start learning. This was certainly a first for Thomas.
