Harlow fixed her clothes and her skirt and then donned her black Hogwarts robes. She was so nervous as the line of first years was paraded into the Great Hall. Her brown eyes were wide as she tried to take in everything. Her neck craned as she wondered what kept the candles up in the air.

She was toward the back of the line as her last name was Riddle. And she waited patiently, growing more an more nervous.

"Harlow Riddle," her name rang out across the hall, and she had to smile a little as she liked the effect.

Daintily she walked up the stairs, keeping her eyes on the stool. If she looked anywhere else she would most assuredly fall.

It took her a minute to climb up on the stool. And her skirt wasn't helping matters. She just really hoped no one got a flash of her knickers again. They had seen the world enough on the train.

Finally seated the sorting hat was lowered onto her head. It sank down to her shoulders and she was plunged into darkness. Harlow nearly toppled off the stool with the hat actually spoke to her.

"Are you sure?"

Harlow nodded.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Harlow beamed as she had to practically climb out of the hat to find her way over to her new housemates. And new color scheme.
