Kurumi smiled as another pair of first year was sorted into her house. She could feel her excitement growing and growing with each new lion - hopefully she wouldn't explode from it all.
"
Welcome," she smiled, charming yet another cookie towards them.
Were his eyebrows wiggling? Perhaps Kurumi was making that up. She was more than a little frazzled at the moment after all. "
Nice to meet you Ali," she said with a bow. No stutter this time. Good girl. "
My name is Kurumi." She cocked her head to the side like a baby owl. "
AV? As in...Audio Visual?"
She needed to turn her filtering system back on...clearly...
Cookie. Not biscuit. Cookie. Unless that was British for cookie. Kurumi still hadn't picked up on all the British words used at Hogwarts. For whatever reason, despite her father being British, she hadn't learned much of it and had instead been schooled in more American English. Go figure.
"
Y-You're welcome," she chirped with a bow. She took a deep breath. "
Y-Yes, one of them. My name is Kurumi."
Kurumi spotted just the lion she had been hoping to see. The manner in which Selina had run off after their conversation on the train and made Kurumi think that the third year wanted some time to herself. Kurumi HAD kind of forced the confession out of her and she felt terrible about it.
Kurumi hurried over to Selina and stood right next to her. "
S-Selina.." she said softly. Wait, before she said anything else....
Kurumi plucked a cookie out of the air and handed it to her friend. Consider it a sort of safety blanket. Food always made Selina a little more agreeable.
"
I'm not going anywhere. You are still my best friend no matter what happened. Nor does my opinion of you change."
"
You are welcome," Kurumi replied. She liked the smile on this one and quickly noticed that she was eyeing the badge. Right, first years didn't entirely understand what that meant. At least, she hadn't. "
My name is Kurumi, your female prefect. May I ask your name?"
"
Um...thank you," she said shyly as her cheeks flushed just a bit. Still not one to take compliments without a slight moment of self doubt. Hopefully that would change this term. "
If you ever have questions, please feel free to ask me."
