She, obviously, still wasn't accepting the fact that parents could be so horrible as to not allow their child to continue living with them. The questions she had wanted to ask that day came back. But this wasn't the time nor place for those either. "Oh, right. Because Muggles have a different post system." Yes, she knew that much. So an owl seemed out of the question. "Dogs are better anyway."
"You could write to him? I wrote to that Divination Professor..." For about a letter or two then...well, she couldn't recall, but it was either too painful to communicate with him, or she forgot. Or a combination of the two. And she simply nodded at the subject name changes. Defense Training made sense. It sounded loads less scary, too. It didn't make it sound like the Dark Arts were some threat, which Ellie strongly believed was untrue.
Adam gave Ellie a weak smile. He could understand coming from a home with parents that loved her that it was difficult for her to understand that Adam's parents really did not care about him. Any sense of maternal or paternal nature that was supposed to apparent in everyone had simply been forgotten in his parents...but that was okay. Adam was used to it and had accepted it.
"Yeah, they would. They would see it as me breaking their rules, and people that don't follow their rules aren't meant to be in their lives." Yes, his parents dropped people that quickly and simply, and yes they would drop him the same way. That was why Adam was terrified of the day that he graduated from Hogwarts and would have to tell his parents the truth.
"I would like to get in contact with him," Adam said, shooting a look out the window.
"I'd have to do some research to figure out where he is though. He took a leave of absence because his wife had just had a baby and he wanted to be with her. I left before he came back...I suppose he's still there..."
