It just wouldn't be right to give him away." No...this dog had shown much more love to him in two weeks than his parents had his entire life. There was no way that he was abandoning the little guy. "An owl has never been an option though...I don't know if any muggles that own owls, so that would be kind of hard to explain if they found that in my room." Yeah...owls were definitely off the table. But really that was fine because Adam didn't really write with anyone anyway.

Adam nodded. "I know what you mean...I was really bummed when I had to leave that Professor. I just learned so much from him." Adam had no idea where the professor went, but he did wish there was a way he could find out where he was. The professor had kind of been a mentor to him. "Yeah...they're about the same. They might just have slight variations in the titles. For example Defense Against the Dark Arts was called Defense Training at my one school."
Ellie frowned, recalling their conversation from Florean's. "You think they'd kick you out just for owning a dog? What if they saw how responsible you were of him? How little of a nuisance he was, seeing as they hadn't noticed him before?" She, obviously, still wasn't accepting the fact that parents could be so horrible as to not allow their child to continue living with them. The questions she had wanted to ask that day came back. But this wasn't the time nor place for those either. "Oh, right. Because Muggles have a different post system." Yes, she knew that much. So an owl seemed out of the question. "Dogs are better anyway."

"You could write to him? I wrote to that Divination Professor..." For about a letter or two then...well, she couldn't recall, but it was either too painful to communicate with him, or she forgot. Or a combination of the two. And she simply nodded at the subject name changes. Defense Training made sense. It sounded loads less scary, too. It didn't make it sound like the Dark Arts were some threat, which Ellie strongly believed was untrue.
