"Nice to meet you Daisy." Shannon told her with a half smile. "I haven't left the compartment since I got here." Shannon said with a shrug of his shoulders. "Too captivated by the scenery out there to even think about leaving." He said nodding his head towards the window.
When Daisy pulled out a package of licorice Shannon remembered his bag of candy his sister gave him before he got onto the train. "I'll pass." He told her as he dug out the massive plastic bag full of assorted colors of sour gummy worms. "My sister made sure to pack me enough of these to get me through the next two weeks." He chuckled as he pulled the bag out and opened it. He pulled one of the candies out and stuck it in his mouth. After eating them so long with his sister, he didn't find them remotely sour anymore, but they still tasted good. "You want some?" He questioned, holding his bag out to Daisy. "There's more than enough to share." He told her as he reached in for another one. Out of her hair came a small brown lizard that crawled down her arm, circling around her elbow for a moment before stopping on her hand poised over the lickerish as if she'd been asking the lizard and not the boy across from her if he wanted some candy. He sniffed the lickerish, then shot his tongue out and snatched the gummy worm freshly plucked from the package out of the boy's hand. There was a slight 'gulp' noise as the lizard smacked it's lips. Slowly it started to turn gray then black, taking on the color of Daisy's school robes.
"Astrid! That wasn't for you!" Daisy chided the cameleon-newt. "Sorry, he has terrible table manners."
