And he seemed rather excited about spending Christmas in Australia."
Mia was tempted to roll her eyes but she managed to stop herself. "I knooow that. But I know the basics and I'm sure if there's something I don't know then Nik could teach me." It seemed she was relying on Nik a lot. It didn't occur to her that Nik might not want to teach her or that he might not have the time. Yep her boyfriend had spoiled her way too much and now she was starting to take things for granted.
"I'm gonna take you up on that." she said with a grin. Her friend owed her big time. Okay she was feeling better now. For a first tantrum it hadn't lasted very long. "So to answer your first question. I had a great summer. Destiny and I went on a safari. I don't recommend it by the way." Not the safari. But going with Destiny. The girl was crazy. "And I spent the rest of the holidays with Nik. he took me to Fiji. How was yours?"
"I bet he's missing you already... and counting down the days until Christmas break." If not she was pretty sure Mia would keep reminding him how many days there were until they seen each other again. Just like she was sure Mina would be doing with Evan. Yeah, Marie was so glad her boyfriend was in the same year as her.
Marie just shook her head a little.
"You know, if you learn these things in school then Nik won't have to teach you. Besides, he's gonna be really busy. I'm sure he would appreciate it if you made an effort to know a little more about the business." Did Mia seriously expect Nik to be teaching her all the time? Sure, it wasn't like Mia would be an expert when she graduated. Heck, even Nik wasn't. He did have to go to school to become a wand maker, but still, Mia could make an effort to learn the basics.
"Yeah, I figured you'd take me up on that offer." Hopefully Marie wouldn't have to go to Mia for a shoulder to cry on this term. She had done enough of that. She was ready for a drama free year.
Oh finally, talk about summer.
Yeah, Marie already knew about the safari. She just hadn't asked Mia about it earlier this summer when she seen her. When she herself was having a meltdown over not seeing her boyfriend for only two weeks.
"I can only imagine how crazy your time with Destiny must have been." Actually that was true, she could only imagine it. Marie had never done anything with Destiny during the summer in all the years they had been friends. Well there was the summer after third year but she didn't count that one. That was
not a pleasant memory.
"Fiji huh? I bet that was a good time." Did Marie dare tell her all the places her and Matty went this summer? Maybe not just yet.
"Well after I seen you in Diagon Alley Matty snuck into my room showed up at my house and apologized for the way he acted." After he practically scared the bejeebers out of her.
"Once he got done being grounded then we spent the rest of the summer together and he got to meet my parents." Boy was that an experience.
