Their world was separate for a reason and not for her to wonder at. She was a Pureblood Witch and needed to conduct herself as such, as her mother always told her. But maybe Carson would tell her some more anyway. Oh, she hoped so.
"And no, Mathias, unfortunately I didn't have time to stop by the Carnival on my own and my mother had work to do, so we had to go back home as soon as I was done shopping. Did you get to go? How was it? I heard it was wonderful. What about you, Carson? Did you go with your mum? What did she think of it? Did she compare it to Muggle carnivals? How do those work anyway? The rides must be awfully boring without magic to power them."
Mathias grinned as Aviva Rose began to talk excitedly to both the boys. The girl was certainly a chatterbox, but that was okay with him. Better than awkward silence, right? He listened as Carson said his mum was a Muggle and Aviva Rose seemed so interested in that.
"Yeah, my dad's a... a Muggle too," he told Carson hesitantly. He still thought that word was so strange.
Green eyes shifted to the girl as she addressed him.
"No, I didn't get to go," he replied with a slight frown.
"We were in kind of a hurry to get my supplies..." he trailed off. Going to Hogwarts was pretty much a last minute decision and they only had time for the necessary. Too bad, it looked really cool.
"I wonder if it's something they have every year," he mused, more to himself than anyone else, though he said it loud enough for everyone to hear. It had been his first trip to Diagon Alley, after all, and he had no idea about the kinds of things that normally went on there.
